About the event
***SIGNUPS CURRENTLY CLOSED; WAITLIST FULL.
Women’s membership in Glacier Gun Club reached 25% a year ago and I know it has grown since then. I can’t tell you what it is now; however, I can tell you that last year’s Women’s League was the best group we have ever had with 50 shooters starting out. They outshot and outscored all of the previous years of Women’s Leagues put together. The group was almost evenly divided between new shooters and previous shooters with 2 Advanced shooters. So, if you have a gun lying around the house (handgun) that you were thinking about learning how to shoot, now is the time. If you are a beginner and have not shot a gun before, once again, now is the time. Women’s League is broken up into 3 Divisions: Beginners (brand new shooters with little or no experience), Intermediates (shooters with previous experience still honing their skills), and Advanced (shooters that are drawing from the holster, reloading from the belt, and shooting with all 4 Grip Applications). We have built our Training Staff up to 5 Trainers, to include the League’s Winner for the last 2 years, Margaret Eby, who got her instructor credentials at the end of the League last year. Margaret will make an excellent addition to our Training Staff and you will love her, as she is all about shooting and is very good with the ladies.
We will be shooting on Wednesdays throughout the League, from 2 PM up to 8:30 PM. You will be shooting 50 rounds in a 30 to 35-minute time slot. Signups for the 2023 League will start November 15 th and close on December 15 th . This has turned out to be a Glacier Gun Club Premier Event, so don’t wait too long to sign up. We had 27 signups the first day last year. The cost this year for the League is $160. Your only other cost will be your ammunition for 14 weeks of shooting. You can purchase it from the club and receive a 10% discount or you can buy it elsewhere.
Orientation will be at Glacier, January 4th at 6 PM, to go over the season lay out and assign Time slots. We have 3 practice weeks in January, then start Shooting for score February 1st , and shoot until April 26th . We will take a midseason break on March 15 for a social get together banquet and meet & greet so you can get to meet all of the other shooters in the league. We tried this last year for the first time with great success and it was loved by all that attended. This is all about teaching you how to shoot and having a good time doing it. Something you can talk about for years, as well as some of the fine people you met during the journey.
